About the Film:
The Librarians explores how librarians across the United States are navigating growing
challenges to book access and collection policies — and what these debates mean for
education, free expression and public life.
When Texas lawmakers call for reviews of library collections, librarians find themselves
on the frontlines of a national conversation. Drawing on historical context and real-world
experiences, the film examines how restrictions on race-related and LGBTQIA+ content
are shaping communities across the country.
