George Jankowski, a U.S. Air Force veteran, initially doubted his academic abilities but found renewed confidence and purpose at Laramie County Community College (ÌÇÐÄlive) in his 30s. Despite past struggles with college, the supportive environment, approachable faculty, and small class sizes at ÌÇÐÄlive helped him thrive. He felt valued and encouraged throughout his journey, ultimately earning an associate degree in social sciences in May 2021.
Jankowski was deeply involved in campus life, contributing to student organizations like Phi Theta Kappa, the Student Veteran's Association, and SAFE. His dedication to academics and community service earned him the prestigious 2021 Jan & W.M. Stalcup Student Excellence Award. He donated part of his award to local charities and celebrated his achievements with a small vacation.

The Heart of a Hero
Todd’s journey to Cheyenne, Wyoming, wasn’t just a career move—it was the fulfillment of a childhood dream. As a young boy, he once passed through Cheyenne and quietly promised himself he’d return one day. On October 1, 2007, that dream became reality when he joined Cheyenne AMR as an Operations Supervisor.
Though his time with us was brief, Todd’s impact was profound. With over twelve years of experience as a paramedic and more than fourteen years as a volunteer firefighter in Mississippi, Todd brought with him a deep well of knowledge, compassion, and dedication. He led by example, inspired those around him, and served his community with unwavering heart.
To honor Todd’s legacy and the values he embodied, the AMR Scholarship was created. It stands as a tribute to his life of service and a way to support future EMS professionals who share his passion for helping others. Through this scholarship, Todd’s spirit continues to guide and uplift those who follow in his footsteps.
