Medical Assistant Program
What will I learn?
In this two-semester program, students will develop skills necessary to assist in a healthcare setting. The curriculum includes studies in human anatomy and physiology, phlebotomy and pharmacology tailored for medical assistants. Students will also learn effective communication and patient interaction techniques for screenings and education, as well as how to assist with medical procedures and use sterile techniques. In the second semester, students will gain hands-on experience through a practicum at a designated healthcare agency.
Credit Diploma
The Medical Assistant Credit Diploma program is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel as medical assistants in various healthcare settings. This program combines theoretical learning with practical, hands-on experience to prepare graduates for a successful career in the medical field. Graduates of the Medical Assistant Credit Diploma program will be competent in both clinical and administrative tasks, with additional certification in phlebotomy and Electrocardiography (ECG). They will be prepared to work effectively in various healthcare environments, contributing to patient care teams with professionalism and ethical practice.
